The Punjab Pollution Control Board today directed to disconnect the power connection of a Samgoli-based meat plant after violations were found in the unit in March.

This was stated by Dera Bassi MLA Kuljit Randhawa. He said Fair Export Private Limited, a meat plant, was found violating the water pollution norms during a surprise checking. “The pollution control board has recommended to disconnect the power connection and shut down the plant completely. There will be no relaxation for units playing with the lives of people in the area,” he said.

Meanwhile, Randhawa today inaugurated the boring of a government tubewell in Hem Nagar, Baltana. He said two tubewells were already functional in the area and the third tubewell would cater to the water needs of people in a better way.
