Prahlad wins gold in state squash meet

Prahlad Singh Majithia recorded a 11-1 11-0 11-0 win over Anhad Cheema to win the boys’ U-11 final on the concluding day of the Chandigarh State Squash Championship at Lake Sports Complex.

Top seed Seerat Ghuman won the girls’ U-11 final by defeating Ujefa Khan 11-1 11-1 11-0. Rishaan Jhanji won the boys’ U-13 final by registering a 7-11 11-3 11-5 6-11 11-5 win, while Swara Trehan got better of Nehmat Nayar 11-5 11-7 11-7 to win the girls’ U-13 gold medal.

Swarit Patil also faced a tough competition from Rudra Pratap Singh Pathania before winning the boys’ U-15 final. Pathania recorded a 11-7 9-11 8-11 11-2 11-9 win to grab the title. Abhinav Kumar won the boys’ U-17 final by beating Himanshu Kumar 11-7 11-3 7-11 6-11 11-6. In the girls’ U-19 final, Sehar Nayar defeated Bhumika Singh 11-3 11-2 11-6, while in the boys’ U-19 final, Kushal Vir Singh beat Ashu by logging a comeback 9-11 11-4 11-4 11-5 victory.

In the men’s 45 final, Saurabh beat Vikas 11-0 9-11 12-10 11-4, and in the men’s open Anurag defeated Prithvi Yadav 11-7 6-11 11-7 2-11 11-5.
