Mahira Bhatheja from the same institution bagged the silver medal. Harshika Sharma of the Panjab University campus and Navisha Bhardwaj of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Senior Secondary School, Sector 35, claimed the third position. Aman of MCM DAV College won the sabre event by defeating Himani of Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 10. Shivanshi Thakur of St Anne’s School and Shruti of the Sector 10 government school shared the third position.
In the men’s epee event, Rohit Bhatt of GGD SD College, Sector 32, defeated Mohit Bhatt of the same college to win the gold medal. Pardeep Kumar of the Sector 32 college and Pawan Upadhyay of the Sector 10 government school shared the bronze medal.
In the sabre event, Kulraj Panav Sharma, representing the Sector 10 government school, defeated Anish Thakur in the final.
Navish Bhardwaj of the Sector 46 coaching centre won the foil even in the boys’ sub-junior category by defeating Abhiraj Singh of St John’s High School. Abhiraj Chugh of St Kabir Public School shared the third position with Lavish Nil of KBDAV School, Sector 7.
All medallists have qualified for the upcoming Senior National Fencing Championship and 27th Sub Junior National Fencing Championship.
