Priyanshi defeated Mannat Awasthi 7-6 to win the girls’ U-19 final on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Tournament, organised by Chandigarh Sports Department at the Lake Sports Complex.

In the boys’ U-19 final, Parmarth Kaushik bagged the title by overpowering Shaourya Jishtu in a neck-to-neck fight. Kaushik lost the opening set 4-6, but bounced back in the next two sets by logging a 6-3 6-4 win to grab the title. Yashavi Balhara defeated Sachit Thakur 6-4 6-4 to claim the third position.

Prasang Raheja won the men’s 40 singles final by defeating Vineet Peshawari. After losing the first set 4-6, he bounced back with a 6-1 10-2 verdict. Sukhbir Chahal logged a 6-2 6-2 win over Ram Parkash to bag the third position.

In the men’s doubles (above 40 years) final, Paras Raheja and Rajeev Goel defeated Ram Parkash and Sanjeev Gupta 6-1 6-0. Rajesh Dahiya and MS Sandhu claimed the third position by defeating Dinesh Kumar and Sanjeev Gupta 6-7 6-2 10-7. The first three position holders in all the categories were awarded cash prize of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000, respectively.

Earlier, in the men’s above 40 years quarterfinals, Sukhbir Singh defeated Sanjiv Gupta 8–4 and Prasang Rehja ousted Shyam Jagat 8–5. Ram Parkash defeated Gurajay Pal Singh 8–3 and Vineet Kumar logged a 4-1 win over Ajay Kaushik.

In the boys’ U-19 singles semifinals, Shorya Jishtu defeated Sachit Kumar 9–1 and Parmarth Kaushik ousted Yashasvi Balhara 9–6. In the boys’ doubles semis, the team of Yashasvi and Shorya defeated Ayaan and Divyansh 9–3, while Keshav and Parmarth outplayed Ayaan and Ashish 9–4.
