Joint efforts of public agencies and NGOs can bring a visible change in society towards women rights. With the help of education, legal awareness and active community participation, a woman can be empowered enough to raise her voice against any misconduct, discrimination, injustice and inequality.

These views were expressed by Justice Augustine George Masih, Judge, Punjab and Haryana High Court, and Executive Chairman, Haryana State Legal Services Authority, during a legal awareness programme held under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority in Panchkula.

Parmod Goyal, District and Sessions Judge, and Member Secretary, HALSA; and Dr Kavita Kamboj, Joint Member Secretary, HALSA, were also present.

Justice Augustine George Masih also launched two audio jingles on the Victim Compensation Scheme and the Rights of Senior Citizens in order to create awareness among the public about their legal rights and benefits and how they can approach the legal services authorities for resolving their legal issues.
