One of accused in the alleged property grab case, Sanjeev Mahajan, has filed an application before the court for issuing directions to the police to produce CCTV footage of all cameras of the police station of Sector 31, Chandigarh, from March 1 to 2, 2021. The application has been filed through advocates Rajesh Sharma and Navdeep Malik.

The counsel said the accused intended to confront witness PK Dass, an advocate, with the record during his cross-examination in the present case. They said no prejudice would be caused to the prosecution agency or to any of the parties in the present case in case the permission, as sought for, in the application is granted, in the interest of fair play and justice.

The counsel said the recording was duly preserved by the technical staff of the police station, in compliance with the orders of the Court of Gitanjali Goel, JMIC, Chandigarh. They said the Court of Gitanjali Goel, vide its order dated March 2, 2021, allowed an application of the accused praying for the issuance of directions to the technical cell of the police to preserve the CCTV footage of all cameras of the polices stations of Sector 31 and 39 from March 1 to 2, 2021.

According to the chargesheet, advocates PK Das and Vyas Chawla signed the documents as witnesses when the sale deed of the house was executed at the Sub-registrar’s office, Sector 17, Chandigarh.
