A prosecution witness in the Sippy Sidhu murder case today made a deposition in the in the CBI court. Dr M Bhaskar, the then Deputy Director (Physics) at CFSL, Chandigarh, identified the signature of Senior Scientific Officer (Ballistic) SS Baisoya who died later.

Dr Bhaskar said he had seen the ballistic report prepared by Baisoya and can identify his signature as he had worked with him for 20 years. He said he had forwarded the report dated October 30, 2015 to the UT SSP. During the cross examination, Bhaskar said he said he sent the report in official capacity being Incharge Director of the CFSL.

However, he cannot comment upon the contents or the correctness of the reports, which were only forwarded by him, he added. Thirty-five year-old national-level shooter and advocate Sukhmanpreet Singh Siddhu, aka Sippy Sidhu, was allegedly murdered in a Sector 27 park on the night of September 20, 2015 . The CBI arrested Kalyani Singh on June 15, 2022, on the allegation of murder. The charge-sheet claimed that Kalyani was seen talking to Sippy Sidhu and thereafter killed him, along with an unknown person, with firearms.

Witness Dr Bhaskar said he had received one iPhone, one laptop and one hard disk from the investigating officer. During the cross examination by the defence counsel, the witness said a large number of indecent video files were recovered from the hard disk.
