Mohali, July 7

Employees of various government departments here today took out a motorcycle rally on the call of the Punjab State Ministerial Services Union to protest against the state government’s decision to implement the Sixth Pay Commission in its existing form.

The rally started from Punjab Mandi Board Office in Phase-11 and ended at the Water Supply and Sanitation Department in Phase-1.

Members of the DC Office Employees Union and employees of various departments of the District Administrative Complex participated in the rally.

Union leaders Gurmukh Singh and Navvinder Singh Navi appealed to the state government to implement the Sixth Pay Commission as per the recommendations and demands made by the employees during the meeting with the state government committee.

The union leaders warned of intensifying the protest if their demands were not met.
