Panchkula, December 2

Candidates who appeared for the Assistant Professor (Geography) recruitment exam staged a protest against the Haryana Public Service Commission over delay in the declaration of results here today.

Shailesh, one of the candidate, said: “We (candidates) staged a brief demonstration in the front of HPSC building in Sector 4, but couldn’t meet any official from the Commission. Then, we went to the DC for seeking permission for a protest at the dharna site in Sector 5. We also submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister’s political adviser Krishan Bedi.”

He said: “Why the HPSC is not releasing the results as petitions related to Assistant Professor (Geography) have also ended. Until our results are declared, we won’t end our protest. We suspect that the HPSC is doing it deliberately.”

On November 20, a delegation of the candidates had met the Commission Secretary, who had given them the assurance to declare results very soon, Shailesh said.
