Patiala MP Preneet Kaur has sought a slipway on the New Delhi-Amritsar-Katra Expressway in Shutrana (Patiala) on its Sangrur-Patran-Khanauri stretch to connect various adjoining places of historical importance.

Addressing a letter to Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road, Transport & Highways, Preneet said in Patiala, at the entry of the expressway, there was a need for an interchange junction in the Shutrana area so that the general public and pilgrims could be facilitated. “There are so many historical places in Punjab and Haryana’s four districts such as Patiala, Sangrur, Jind and Kaithal that are situated on this route and this one slipway could cater to all these pilgrimages”, she added.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
