A Panjab University-led foundation and a Korean company today signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to drive breakthroughs in sustainable mobility, automated driving and green energy solutions.

The agreement has been signed between Panjab University – IIT Ropar Regional Accelerator for Holistic Innovations Foundation (PI-RAHI), Northern Region Science & Technology Cluster, and HL KLEMOVE India Pvt Ltd.

HL KLEMOVE India, promoted by HL KLEMOVE Corporation, South Korea, will bring extensive expertise in automated driving systems, vehicle connectivity, ADAS technologies and advanced mobility solutions designed for the Indian context.

For students, researchers and industry professionals, the collaboration will allow faster access to real-world technologies that touch everyday life — from futuristic driverless cars to smarter batteries that last longer and energy-efficient systems that help reduce fuel costs and carbon emissions.

“Project related to driverless cars, from automated vehicles topped with green-energy will be developed under the programme, and it will a breakthrough event for the university students,” said a university representative.

Vice Chancellor Prof Renu Vig said the MoU will open new and more dynamic options in bringing various forward-looking, cutting-edge facilities in line with Indian-friendly conditions. It will also reduce the barriers between research, industry and society by creating direct pathways for applied R&D, internships and technology transfer, while making students of PU and the region more employable and industry-ready for the future, she added.

The partnership with PI-RAHI will focus on accelerating India-specific innovations that address local challenges in smart mobility, green energy and sustainable transportation.
