Anticipating the approval of Panjab University’s Syndicate, PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Raj Kumar has proposed two new members to the Committee against Sexual Harassment (PUCASH), one of whom is Inder Mohan, the special officer to the VC. The other new member is Prof Yojana Rawat of USOL.

The new proposal of the VC comes a month after he rejected the recommendations of a panel that was constituted to suggest names for the new PUCASH committee.

PU Registrar Prof Karamjeet Singh said: “The reason why two new members have been added here is because two members of the committee had retired. While Prof Surinder Sharma had superannuated, Prof Sanjay Chaturvedi took voluntary retirement.” Prof Singh affirmed that the proposal will only be accepted in if the Syndicate gives a nod to the new members. “This is just a proposal by the VC and it’s the Syndicate that will take a final call on it,” he added. — TNS
