The UT has issued a public notice for holding a public hearing on the Tribune flyover on December 23. In the notice, issued today, the Administration has stated that the public hearing will be held on December 23 at 4 pm at the UT Guest House. It said any person having any objection to the proposed flyover or having any reasonable alternatives could appear before the committee, headed by UT Adviser Manoj Kumar Parida.

The submission could be made orally or in writing before the committee. Specific solutions to the traffic problem and for the protection of trees were also welcome.

The UThas fixed the hearing on the directions of the High Court. Officers from Punjab and Haryana have also been invited. After examining the views, a report in this regard will be placed before the court. The court had issued the directions on a petition filed by the Run Club, which had opposed the felling of trees for the flyover. — TNS
