She got the first prize in the identification of tress of Sukhna Wildlife Sanctuary in the inter-school competition – Biodiversity Hunt – organised by the Department of Forest Environment, UT, and Yuvsatta. Student brings laurels
Panchkula: Chinmay Khokar, a Class XII student of Bhavan Vidyalaya, Panchkula, has been selected to represent India in the International Chemistry Olympiad, which is to be held at Tianjin, China. Along with chemistry, Chinmay has also qualified for the International Astronomy Olympiad. Principal Gulshan Kaur congratulated Chinmay on his success. TNS
Declamation contest
Mohali: An inter-class English declamation contest was held in the morning assembly at Shishu Niketan, Mohali. Students of Class X took part in it with enthusiasm. A total of eight participants spoke on the theme, “Education”. Gursangat Singh and Hitisha of Class X-C shared the first position, Chanpreet Kaur of Class X-B and Ravneet Kaur of Class X-C bagged the second and third positions, respectively. TNS
Dental workshop
Chandigarh: A dental workshop was organised at Delhi Public School, Chandigarh, for students of Class ll. Guest speakers Dr Taruna, Dr Antara and Dr Ruchika talked about the importance of flossing, brushing teeth twice a day and regular dental check-ups. They made the students aware of the common dental problems through a vivid and child-friendly presentation. TNS
Ice cream carnival
Mohali: The pre-primary wing organised an ice-cream carnival at AKSIPS-65 Smart School, Mohali. The toddlers enjoyed their favourite ice-creams. They also danced, sang and played fun games. TNS
Guru Purnima celebrated
Mohali: Delhi Public School, Mohali, celebrated Guru Purnima. The school conducted a special assembly to mark the occasion. The celebrations began on a happy note with student reciting ‘dohas’. It was followed by an inspirational speech highlighting the importance of teachers in a student’s life. Students also performed an ecstatic prayer dance expressing their love and gratitude towards their teachers.
