Mohali, January 22

The Gillco Group and Urban Dive Events will organise the Punjab Winter Half Marathon on January 26. Runners from Punjab, Himachal, J&K and Delhi will be a part of the initiative aimed at promoting de-addiction.

The participants can compete in 5km and 10km run besides the 21km half-marathon, the organisers said here today.

The competition will be held at the Gillco Park Hills, Airport Road, Sector 126, the organisers added.

The interested runners need to register for the event till January 24.

Veteran marathon runner Amar Chauhan, 76, will also compete in the half-marathon. The 76-year-old has run in 89 marathons across the world so far and has won 78 gold medals.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
