Punjabi University, Patiala, won both their league matches on the opening day of the All India Inter-University Rugby (Men) 7’s Championship at the Panjab University here today.
Patiala university boys drubbed Mewar University, Rajasthan, 26-0 before registering a 19-0 win over Patliputra University, Patna.
Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar, humbled Bangalore University 19-7, while they thrashed RTM Nagpur University 38-0 in their second match. Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari University, Jalgaon, received a walk-over against Kurukshetra University. The University of Jammu got the better of Rayalseema University, Kurnool, in their campaign opener.
Tamil Nadu Physical Education Sports University registered a 5-0 win over MG Kashi Vidyapith, Varanasi. The University of Kerala downed the University of Rajasthan 21-10, before thrashing MATS University, Raipur, 24-0.
The University of Calicut blanked Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, 5-0, while Lovely Professional University (LPU), Phagwara, defeated Osmania University, Hyderabad, 41-0. In their second match, the LPU drubbed the University of Calicut 22-0.
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari University registered a 10-5 win over Lucknow University in their second match.
In the women’s competition, the Punjabi University got a walk-over against Tamil Nadu Physical Education Sports University.
The University of Kerala blanked MATS University 19-0, while the University of Rajasthan received a walk-over against Manipal University, Jaipur. Patliputra University drubbed Bengaluru Central University 32-0 in their opening match.
Kavayitri Bahinabai Chaudhari University prevailed 5-0 over MG Kashi Vidyapith, whereas RTM University defeated Mewar University 10-5. The LPU pulled off a 15-0 win over Shivaji University, Kolhapur. — TNS
