Senior IPS officer Pushpendra Kumar has formally taken over as the new Inspector General of Police (IG), replacing RK Singh, who has been reassigned to Delhi following a recent cadre reshuffle.
A 2006-batch officer from the AGMUT cadre, Kumar was earlier serving as Joint Commissioner of Police for the Eastern Range in the Delhi Police.
