The Panjab University Teachers’ Association (PUTA) has requested the Vice-Chancellor to release the arrears of the faculty members as per the 7th Pay Commission.

“Since the revised scales have been implemented from January 1, 2016, the arrears of the salary for the period between January 1, 2016, and December 31, 2022, are required to be released accordingly. Further, the arrears towards the revised salary of the teachers working in all UGC-funded universities across the country have been paid soon after the implementation of revised pay scales. The Board of Finance should take up the matter in the meeting scheduled to be held on April 14,” stated PUTA in their submission.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
