Chandigarh: Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi was in the city on Friday to attend the marriage function of an advocate's son. City Congress president HS Lucky welcomed Rahul at Shaheed Bhagat Singh International Airport and took up the matter of privatisation of the Electricity Department. Lucky told him that the Congress had been staging a protest over the issue for the past many days. Rahul returned to Delhi around 3 pm.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
