The first day of the Ranji Trophy match between Chandigarh and hosts Jharkhand was hampered by rain followed by a wet outfield at Keenan Stadium in Jamshedpur.

The opening day’s play was confined to just 2.2 overs. The field umpires declared the conditions fit for players after 4 pm. Meanwhile, Chandigarh girls faced a crushing 58-run defeat against Railways in the Women’s Seniors T20 Tournament at Lucknow.
