Chandigarh and several parts of Punjab and Haryana received rainfall on Monday.

According to the local Met department, Chandigarh received 70.5 mm of rain in the last 24 hours ending at 8.30 am on Monday.

In Haryana, Yamunanagar, Hisar, Ambala, Rohtak, Bhiwani, Sirsa, Panchkula and Karnal received rain. In Yamunanagar district, a farmer claimed that his fields were submerged after heavy rains.

In Punjab, rain lashed places including Ludhiana, Patiala, Pathankot, Bathinda, Mohali, Gurdaspur and Ferozepur.

Temperatures hovered below normal limits after rain in the region.

More rains have been forecast at several places in the two states until Tuesday.
