The suspect has been identified as Rohit Meena (21), a resident of Bhilwara in Rajasthan. A Chandigarh resident, Bharat Kumar, had reported that he was added to a WhatsApp group offering high-return investment opportunities. Believing the scheme to be legitimate, he transferred large sums into various bank accounts controlled by the fraudsters. Investigators found out that the transactions were routed through accounts linked to Bhilwara and that mobile numbers used in the deception were connected to the accused.
