Rajasthan’s Parul Choudhary defeated Jasmeet Kaur 21-14 21-15 in the girls’ U-19 semifinals of the ongoing YONEX SUNRISE North Zone Interstate Senior and Junior (U-19) Badminton Championships.

In the boys’ U-19 quarterfinals, Sanskar Saraswat defeated Divyam Sachdeva 17-21 21-14 21-13, while Sonna Ginpaul outplayed Shivansh 21-8 21-12. Akul Malik recorded a 21-16 21-18 win over Daksh Mathur and Manish Phogat recorded a comeback win over Akhil Arora 18-21 21-9 21-16.

Punjab’s Lakshay Sharma was playing at par (15-15) in the men’s semis against Dishant Ahlawat, when the latter conceded the match. In quarterfinals, Sharma defeated Abhinn Vasisht 21-14 19-21 21-5. Dishant ousted Dhruv Bansal 21-16 21-16 and in a tough match, local lad Samarveer defeated Manraj Singh 11-21 21-18 24-22. Pranay Katta defeated Bhavya Sharma 21-12 21-17.

In the men’s doubles quarterfinals, Parthiv and Samaksh Dhalta moved ahead as Anshul Budhwar and Sunny Nehra left the match. Chandigarh’s Randeep Singh and Samarveer defeated Adhayan Kakkar and Mridul Jha 23-21 16-21 21-17, while Denish Shrivastava and Shubham Patel ousted Harsh Mahajan and Puranjay 21-16 21-12.

The team of Kevin CC Wong and Mahnoor Kaur won the mixed doubles semis against Ashish Garg and Kavya Gandhi 21-15 21- 12. In the U-19 mixed doubles semis, Druv Datta and Manya Ralhan defeated Suryansh Raghav and Raissa Bhanot 21-17 21-12, while Divyansh Rawat and Dianka Waldia defeated Murli Sharma and Suhasi Verma 21-11 21-16.
