Ravleen claims gold in archery at Chandigarh meet

Ravleen Kaur, Ritvika Sharma and Akaljot Kaur claimed the first three positions in the girls’ U-14 recurve 40m event on the concluding day of the Chandigarh Archery Tournament organised by the UT Sports Department at the Lake Sports Complex. In the boy’s event, Vaidant Mittal claimed the top position followed by Tej Pratap Singh on second and Annan Prabhakar at third.

In the girls’ U-14 compound event, Nimrat Kaur Bhullar won the top podium position followed by Vaishnavi Mittal and Brahmjot, In the boys’ category, Krish Singla, Aks Dahiya and Gurbaz Singh bagged the top three positions, respectively.

Gurhans won the boys’ U-19 recurve 60m event followed by Sahil and Ajinkya, while in the girls’ category, Japman Kaur bagged the top honour followed by Sejal and Rhythm.

In boys’ U-19 compound 50m event, Harsh Kumar, Pranav Malik and Darsh Mishra won the medals, respectively. In the girls’ U-19 event, Asees won the first position followed by Mehakpreet Kaur at second and Harnoordeep Kaur at third.

UT Sports Director Sorabh Kumar Arora awarded the winners. The tournament recorded participation of around 60 archers representing various schools of Chandigarh. The competition concluded with the medal ceremony where the winners were felicitated with cash prizes of Rs 5,000, Rs 3,000 and Rs 2,000 for the first, second and third positions, respectively.
