On the eve of Independence Day 2025, the President of India and the UT Administrator have conferred prestigious honours upon Chandigarh Police personnel in recognition of their distinguished and meritorious services.

The President Police Medal (PPM) for Meritorious Service has been awarded to Head Constable Vikram Singh and Sub-Inspector Rajender Kumar.

Head Constable Vikram Singh, who was recruited into Chandigarh Police on March 15, 2005, is currently posted with the cybercrime investigation cell. He played an important role in solving numerous complicated cases, including participating in Interpol profile matching. Sub-Inspector Rajender Kumar had begun his career on July 24, 1989 as a constable. He played an instrumental role in apprehending two Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists and solving complex criminal cases. Currently, he is posted as Reader to the IGP, UT Chandigarh.

The Administrator’s Police Medal for Distinguished Service has been awarded to ASI Kawaljeet Singh, ASI Malvinder Singh, ASI Munish Kumar and Head Constable Sunil Mehta. Apart from them, the honour has been bestowed on Inspector Mini (Sarangpur SHO), SI Dinesh Kumar, SI Rakesh Kumar, ASI Naresh Kumar, ASI Gautam Singh, HC Manju, HC Meenu, HC Vishal Bamel, HC Amit, Senior Constable Rakesh Kumar, Senior Constable Vipin Sharma, Senior Lady Constable Bharti Rawat, Senior Constable Sandeep Kumar and Senior Constable Bhudev.

The UT Director General of Police has announced the conferment of the DGP Commendation Discs to several police personnel in recognition of their outstanding dedication, professionalism and exemplary service. The Gold Disc was awarded to Geetanjali Khandelwal, IPS, DSP Vikas Sheokand, DSP Amrao Singh, Inspector Dalbir Singh (holding the charge of DSP) and Inspector Paresh Sharma.

Recipients of the Silver Disc are Inspector Neeraj Sarna, Inspector Eram Rizvi, Inspector Satvinder, ASI Arjun Singh and HC Mukesh Kumar. The Bronze Disc was conferred upon Constable Vinod, DSP Lakshay Pandey, Inspector Kirpal Singh, SI Kavita, ASI Rajesh Kumar Taya, ASI Satbir Singh, HC Surinder Pal, HC Manoj Kumar, Constable Jagdeep Singh, Constable Pinki, Constable Vivek Mohan, Constable Amandeep Walia, Constable Neelam and Constable Shubham.
