The V3 roads, with a total length of 275 km, are sector-dividing stretches, which were recently transferred to the Chandigarh Administration due to the fund crisis in the civic body. The other roads left with the MC are in poor shape as repairs have not been carried out for a long time. The V-4 roads divide a sector and have shopping areas and other conveniences alongside.

The V-5 and V-6 roads are located in front of markets and residential areas, respectively.

An internal survey conducted by the MC has found that at least 60 roads are in a “very poor” condition. These have not been recarpeted for more than five years. In a majority of the cases, the roads were last recarpeted six to eight years ago.
