The Mohali Municipal Corporation will begin recarpeting and patchwork of broken roads from September 15. The repair work is to be done at a cost of Rs 20 crore with 11.92cr for “A roads” and Rs 8.68cr for “B and C roads” to cover 90 per cent of the city road network. The old ‘Dart System’ sewerage line heading from Phase 1 to Phase 11 is dilapidated and collapses frequently, leading to sinking of metalled road. An amount of Rs 200 cr is required to overhaul it. An estimate has been sent to the state government for its repairs and the approval is awaited.
