The work of laying premix began on the Airport Road and Sector 83. The road connecting Sector 88 to Sector 78 and Wave Estate is also being repaired. Drainage and sewer lines on both sides of the road in front of CP-67 Mall on the Airport Road are being repaired, officials said. The traffic on one side of the road has been closed till the work is completed. Besides, potholes are being fixed with patchwork in other parts of the city.

A day earlier, Mohali MLA Kulwant Singh took stock of the ground situation. He was accompanied by GMADA and MC officials.

Singh said despite the financial resources available with GMADA, the people were not getting basic facilities. He highlighted the condition of the road at the CP-67 Mall noting that the road had been built 10-12 years ago but was in a shambles now. “If there is any accident, the responsibility will lie with the JE, SDO, XEN and other officials concerned,” he added.
