The manual aims at sensitising commuters on safe driving practices. The manual discusses all challenges related to driving — road conditions, weather, time of the day, visibility and nature of traffic.

The Administrator desired that the manual should be supplied to those who appear for learner/renewal licence at least 15 days in advance.

Further, the Administrator also released a series of three books, ‘Towards Road Safety’, as part of the curriculum for schoolchildren. These books (in Hindi and English) have been developed by Chandigarh Traffic Police, in association with the State Council of Education, Research and Training (SCERT), UT, for primary, middle and senior classes.
