Rs 1.02 cr recovered from doctor’s house

A team of the Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) has recovered Rs 1.02 crore from the flat of Dr Ravi Vimal, the Deputy CEO of Ayushman Bharat Scheme for the city, who was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh yesterday. Dr Vimal was caught by a team of the Haryana Anti-Corruption Bureau of Karnal. The team had received a complaint from the owner of a private hospital, who said Dr Vimal had been demanding Rs 10 lakh in lieu of cancelling the suspension of his hospital under the Ayushman Bharat Yojana. After negotiations, the bribe amount was settled at Rs 5 lakh.

During investigation, the team reached his house in Amravati and recovered Rs 1.02 crore from there. Officials said the raid started on Thursday evening and continued till late on Friday.

The officials said they were questioning the doctor regarding the amount and involvement of other people in the case.
