The Department of Social Welfare, Women and Child Development, UT, has disbursed pension amounting to Rs314.12 lakh to 28,223 beneficiaries under various pension schemes in February.

A sum of Rs134.04 lakh was distributed among 13,035 beneficiaries under the old-age pension scheme, Rs92.03 lakh among 8,863 beneficiaries under financial assistance to widows and destitute women, Rs19.38 lakh to 1,872 beneficiaries under financial assistance to dependent children of widows and Rs68.67 lakh among 4453 beneficiaries under pension to disabled persons.

The payment under the schemes is being disbursed on a monthly basis in Aadhaar-seeded bank accounts of beneficiaries. — TNS
