The Mohali Municipal Corporation will spend Rs95 lakh on the development and maintenance of around 100 parks taken over from GMADA in Sectors 76 to 80 here. Tenders for these works have been passed.

Mayor Amarjit Singh Sidhu stated this on the sidelines of inaugurating the work by planting saplings at a park in Sector 78 here. Senior Deputy Mayor Amrik Singh Somal, Deputy Mayor Kuljit Singh Bedi and MC Commissioner Kamal Garg were also present. The Mayor said the condition of these parks, which were taken over from GMADA, was bad. — TNS
