To improve internal governance by using latest technolofy, Deputy Commissioner Himanshu Jain on Thursday inaugurated the new office of e-governance at the district administration complex.

The minister said various services are being provided at the Sewa Kendras, Connect, DSD, and mSewa through the eSewa portal. The Governance Reform Branch regularly monitors eSewa pendency, as Rupnagar consistently ranks high in eSewa pendency.

The eSewa portal has received 1,18,226 applications, of which 1,15,865 applications were disposed of in the last one year.

The DC added that a total of 23 Sewa Kendras have been efficiently managing services in the district. In the past year, Rupnagar district achieved secured the top-2 positions in Punjab for pendency and service delivery to citizens through the Sewa Kendra and DSD project. Of the approximately 110,000 applications received, only 1,800 were rejected due to incomplete documents, resulting in an impressive rejection ratio of just 0.1%.
