Chandigarh’s Samarveer and Punjab’s Radhika won silver medal in the mixed doubles event in the Junior National Rankings Badminton Tournament, which concluded at Bengaluru.

Samarveer’s coach Vivek Sharma, who accompanied the pair, said Samarveer and Radhika played really well and toppled many top seeded teams.

In the quarterfinals, the pair of Samarveer and Radhika overpowered a tough challenge by Shashak and Ashwarya (22-20, 15-21, 26-24). In the semi-finals, the duo repeated their performance by registering (21-19, 18-21, 21-12) win over Anshul Bhudwar and Awantika Pandey.

In the final match, the pair went down to Mayank and Nardhana (15-21, 10-21).
