An anti-encroachment and sanitation drive was carried out in the fruit, vegetable and grain mandi, Sector 26, today. The drive was necessitated in view of sanitation issues and operational hindrances caused by waterlogging due to rain in the morning.

The drive was carried out as per the directions of Market Committee administrator and under the supervision of the committee secretary. Acting promptly, the committee deployed its staff, along with the sanitation contractor’s workforce, to drain out water and clear the mess caused due to rainfall.

A coordinated effort was launched to remove unauthorised encroachments from the mandi and ensure thorough cleaning of the entire area. To ensure effectiveness, the sanitation contractor deployed additional manpower and machinery.
