School director to adopt players

Chandigarh, March 4

For the first time in the history of the city, 70 women players from 35 different affiliated associations of Chandigarh will be adopted by Ranjan Sethi, Director, The British School, Sector 44, to look after their education and sports career.

Under ‘Supporting the Talent’ scheme, these players will be given free education at the choice of their own from the school to the university level or till the time these players get settled, claimed Sethi.

He also announced that the 1st British School Games for all Olympic events will be organised within three months in order to promote local talent by the means of conducting tournaments.

“I wanted to provide local players a platform to perform. These games will be conducted in a phased manner throughout the year and annually,” said Sethi
