To celebrate Van Mahotsav under the theme ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’, 50 saplings of various fruits, medicinal trees, shade and floral trees were planted on the school campus. The plantation was carried out with the blessing of special guests Gurinder Singh Sodhi, Joint Commissioner-1, MC, Chandigarh, and SLO Dr Nemi Chand. A ‘nukkad natak’ on importance of growing trees was presented by volunteers of NSS and Eco Club. Students prepared posters on the importance of plantation. A workshop on paper bag-making was also organised for the students of Classes VI to VIII.

On the occasion of Van Mahotsav, students of Eco Club performed a mime to spread awareness on the importance of trees. The mime also aimed at sensitising people about conserving water, the precious natural resource without which life will wither away. They also planted a variety of saplings around Sector 32. Each student adopted a sapling and promised to take care of it.

Delhi Public School, Chandigarh

The school observed ‘Reading Month’ with great zeal and passion to develop and promote the reading habit among students. Pupils from Classes IV and V performed during a poem recitation event on importance of reading and their favourite books. Students of Classes VI to VIII presented their creativity and innate talent of making book jackets and book covers of their favourite genres of literature.

PML SD Public School, Chandigarh

To sensitise students about cyber safety, a guest lecture was organised by the NSS Club of the school for Class XI. Vikas Sangwan from the Chandigarh Police cybercrime branch was the resource person.
