Gurukul World School students from Class IX and X recently had an exceptional opportunity to visit The Tribune office. Under the guidance of a learned mentor, they embarked on a fascinating journey into the rich history of the newspaper, discovering intriguing facts about the visionary founder Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia and The Tribune Trust. The visit also included an engaging introduction to the complex world of printing technology, as students were introduced to the intricate workings of the printing machine.

Shishu Niketan School, Mohali
To celebrate monsoon showers, the pre-primary students of Shishu Niketan Public School, Mohali came ‘armed’ in their rain coats and umbrellas to splash and revel in the rain. The students of kindergarten were brought out in open by their teachers with umbrellas and rain coats to enjoy the weather. Students were also made aware of the special foods that could be enjoyed in the rainy season. They were acquainted with the insects and animals that one could encounter in the season. Overall, the students students enjoyed and learnt a lot during the event.

DC Model School, PANCHKULA
The anti-drug campaign session was organised in the premises of DC Model School to educate students about the adverse effects of drug use and to empower them with the skills to resist peer pressure. The session was a collaborative effort between the Art of Living organisation and the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The session concluded with a oath taking ceremony where students pledged to stay away from drug and to support their peers in making healthy choices.

Govt School, Vikas Nagar, Chandigarh
Eco club of the school organised a tree planting event in the school premises. The event began with an exhibition showing the importance of trees and the need to protect the environment through different posters and herbarium made by students. Students planted saplings with their mothers under the theme “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” in the school ground. The event concluded with free distribution of saplings which were planted and nurtured by the Eco Club members.

St Joseph’s School, CHANDIGARH
A talk about safety of animals was conducted for the students of Primary 2 Block of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School. The talk was given by Alex Rausch, an eminent educator and a passionate animal lover. The session was quite an interactive one which was well received by the students with zeal.

St xavier’s School, CHANDIGARH
With an aim of laying the foundation of leadership among the students by entrusting them with certain roles and responsibilities, the ‘Investiture Ceremony’ was conducted at St Xavier’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, Chandigarh, today surrounded by an aura of enthusiasm, expectation and joie de vivre. The newly elected Student Council for the session 2024-25 was sworn in and cheered by the staff and students. The school principal Dr Ivorine Castellas conferred the badges onto the newly appointed council members.
