Chandigarh, September 16

A schoolteacher was found murdered at her government accommodation in Chandigarh’s Sector 23 on Wednesday.

The victim has been identified as Jyoti, who was living with her family.

Her husband, Mandeep, is accused of the murder. Police have shifted the body to the mortuary at Government Multi-Specialty Hospital, Sector 16.

An investigation has been initiated at Sector 17 police station.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
