All 111 government schools in Chandigarh on Saturday actively participated in the nationwide ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, which will culminate on August 15, as part of the broader celebrations commemorating India’s 79th Independence Day. The initiative aims to encourage people to hoist the National Flag at their homes.

To ensure the impactful implementation of the campaign across the city schools, Education Secretary Prerna Puri outlined a series of initiatives to engage students, teachers and the educational institutions in this national movement. All schools were adorned with Tiranga-themed installations and visuals. Exhibitions curated by the Union Ministry of Culture were showcased at 79 locations, including prominent schools and colleges.

“A variety of programmes, including patriotic rallies, concerts, competitions and thematic workshops, will be organised to foster active community involvement during the fortnight-long celebrations,” she disclosed.

The students and teachers were encouraged to upload selfies with the National Flag on the official campaign website ww.harghartiranga.com. “‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign is a collective expression of our national pride. We are committed to ensuring enthusiastic participation from every educational institution in Chandigarh, symbolising our unity in diversity,” Prerna said.

Director School Education Harsuhinder Pal Singh Brar has urged all students and teachers to support the campaign, besides actively participating in the local events.
