As heavy rain continues in Tricity, the Chandigarh administration has announced the closure of all schools on Tuesday.

All schools, colleges, universities and ITIs/ polytechnics in Mohali will remain closed on Tuesday and Wednesday.

In Panchkula, certain schools have been closed in the vulnerable areas.

"In view of the inclement weather all schools of UT Chandigarh shall remain closed for academic purposes tomorrow i.e 2nd Sept 2025," the notification issued by the Department of School Education, Chandigarh, states.

The continuous downpour has led to massive waterlogging, damage to public property and major traffic snarls on most of the roads and busy junctions across Tricity.
