According to the police, a joint team from the District Crime Cell (DCC) and the Sector 26 police station, arrested Sunny Kumar (35) near the cremation ground at Bhagat Ghat Colony, Kharar, Mohali. The police said Sunny was accused of providing shelter and logistical support to the main accused prior to the murder. The police recovered one country-made pistol and two cartridges from him. He already faces NDPS cases.

Earlier this week, the police had made the first arrest in the murder case. A 40-year-old man from Kharar, identified as Rahul, was arrested for allegedly supplying the vehicle used by the assailants.

Rahul was picked up by the District Crime Cell late on Tuesday night. He is a drug addict with a background in petty crimes and acted as a facilitator by arranging a stolen white Hyundai Creta for the shooters. During questioning, he allegedly admitted to handing over the vehicle in Ludhiana on November 29, two days before the killing.

The police said the Creta was stolen from Kota, Rajasthan, in 2024 and sold in the illegal vehicle market multiple times. The SUV, fitted with fake number plates and a tampered chassis number, was recovered from the Mansa Devi Complex in Panchkula on the night after the murder.

Police officials said further investigation was underway to establish the exact role of Sunny in the crime, identify and trace the shooters who allegedly stayed at his residence and recover additional evidence linked to the crime.

Parry was shot dead on December 1 near Timber Market after he left a club in Sector 26. While he was seated in his Kia Seltos, a shooter sitting in the vehicle shot him at from close range. He fled the scene in the Creta with his accomplices Parry was rushed to the hospital but died on the way to the PGI.

Soon after the murder, the Lawrence Bishnoi gang took responsibility of the attack in a Facebook post. It claimed that Parry was killed to exact revenge against Goldy Brar gang for killing their financier, Sippa, in Dubai. Later, Canada-based Goldy Brar also released an audio message clarifying his stance and calling Parry a loyal old friend, whose only fault was trusting Bishnoi as a friend.

Brar denied the Bisnoi gang's claim that Parry was extorting money from clubs for him and had a hand in Sippa's killing.

Lawrence Bishnoi is currently lodged in Sabarmati Jail, Gujarat. He parted ways from Goldy Brar reportedly since June this year blaming the latter for not helping with bail bond of his brother Anmol Bishnoi, who was arrested in the US and extradited to India recently.
