The Union Territory Cricket Association (UTCA) and Chandigarh Police will organise the second edition of the Gully Cricket Tournament 2024 to promote the sport among youngsters.

A total of 288 teams (256 boys’ teams and 32 girls’ teams) will participate in this tournament, scheduled to be held from July 26. The registration of these teams has been done through all 16 police stations of Chandigarh Police across the city. Around 3,456 young talents of the city in the age group of 14 to 18 years are participating in this tournament, which is supported by the municipal corporation, Social Welfare Department and Sports Department and DPI (Schools) of Chandigarh Administration.

The organisers will be eyeing to get this tournament registered in the Asia Book of World Records with this massive participation. According to UTCA president, Sanjay Tandon, this tournament has been made an annual event and cricket uniforms will be gifted to the players The tournament will be played at nine venues across the city, which includes Police Lines, Sector 26, GMSS-8, GHS-19, GMSSS-23, 27, 35, 37, 32 and 40.
