Residents of Sector 22-C were in for a surprise after they found the gates to a neighbourhood park locked today.

The park, which recently received a major makeover, had been open from one side, despite having multiple entries. The MC had recently taken over possession of the park, which was earlier encroached upon by bamboo chick dealers. “All entrances should remain open. We have to cross the entire road to enter the park,” said Amit Mittal, a local resident.

“The authorities have merged two parks into one. This goes against the approved plan. If these parks are made for public, these should be open for all,” said Ravinder Singh, an area resident.
