Sector 23 team, DAV Club win Table Tennis titles

The boys’ U-19 team of Sector 23 Table Tennis Champs and the girls’ team of DAV Club won their respective titles on the penultimate day of the Gurukul Global 37th Chandigarh State Tables Tennis Championship-2024 being played at the Sector 50 sports complex.

In the boys’ final, the Sector 23 squad overpowered a tough challenge by Champions TT Club 3-2. In the opening game, Vadya defeated Bhavya 11-3, 9-11, 8-11, 11-8, 11-8 for the Sector 23 team, while Vishal levelled the score for the Champions Club by logging an 8-11, 11-7, 11-21, 1-9 win over Vihaan. Pritish recorded a comeback 9-11, 11-4, 11-9, 11-4 win over Neelesh, while Vadya once again put Champions’ Club in title contention by defeating Vishal 11-7, 11-6, 12-10. In the final match, Bhavya defeated Vihaan S 2-11, 11-5, 11-8, 11-6.

In the girls’ final, DAV Club blanked Champions TT Club 4-0. Teetiksha defeated Cherrish 11-8, 11-5, 11-7, Pelf ousted Prabhleen 11-7, 11-3, 11-7, Neha defeated Tanisha 11-6, 11-8, 11-3 and Pelf defeated Teetiksha 11-7, 7-11, 11-8, 11-8.
