Mohali’s new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Deepak Pareek today led a checking drive in the courts complex to ensure the safety and security of the judicial officers and the public visiting the court complex.

While interacting with the mediapersons here after the drive, he said that not only the District Courts Complex, but all the courts in sub-divisions have been thoroughly checked in the district.

“As per the directions of Punjab DGP Gaurav Yadav, the teams have also checked the unauthorised access to the complex,” he said.

A large number of police personnel, including the dog squad and bomb disposal squads were deployed to accomplish the exercise. Meanwhile, the security devices (metal detectors) placed on the roads of the court complex were also inspected and the manual metal detectors were also checked to ensure that they are functioning. Along with this, the vehicles parked at the complex were also checked.

In view of the Independence Day celebrations, while the checking campaign will be intensified, steps will also be taken to tighten the security of the common places having heavy footfall.

DSP City-2 Harsimran Singh Bal along with police personnel were also present during the checking of the District Courts Complex.
