Panchkula, December 13

Seema Kumari and Babu Ram won the final round of the rifle and pistol events, respectively, on the concluding day of the 6th Colonelz SharpShooterz 10m Air Rifle and Air Pistol Open Shooting Tournament in Panchkula today.

Seema claimed the top spot in rifle event by scoring 235 points, while Akash Santosh (235 points) and Pururaj (215 points) claimed second and third positions. In the pistol event, Ram finished atop with 230 points, followed by Tinjit Ghanota (229 points) at second position and Unish (203 points) at third spot.

Vikrant Thapliyal, Commandant, ITBP Training Centre, Ramgarh, Col Balwan Singh, Maha Vir Chakra medal winner decorated in the Kargil War, and Col MS Chauhan, former coach of Indian Army Shooting Team, and Commanding Officer, Army Marksmanship Unit, Mhow, were the guests of honour and awarded the winners.

Indian team players Ram and Dhanota, Khelo India players Bamkin and Agambir also took part in the air pistol event. Trainees of ITBP, Ramgarh, Army Public School, Beas, Vajra Shooting Club, Jalandhar Cantonment, Hallmark Shooting Academy, Panchkula, SK Shooting Academy and Blooming Buds School, Moga, Salvo Shooters, Mohali and Chandigarh, Warrior Shooting Academy, Mukerian, and Silver Oak School, Tanda, participated.
