Senior journalist and former editor of Dainik Tribune Radhe Shyam Sharma breathed his last in Panchkula today.

Sharma, 87, was not keeping well for some time. His cremation will be held tomorrow at 12 noon at the cremation ground in Mani Majra. He was the founder Vice-Chancellor of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi University and visiting professor of journalism in various universities, including Panjab University, Banaras Hindu University and Kurukshetra University.

Apart from this, Sharma was also editorial adviser of two Hindi newspapers. He has also written several books on journalism. He has been awarded with several awards and honours on journalism. He has also been honoured with D.Litt. He is survived by a son and two daughters. Several organisations expressed condolences on his death.
