Students for Society (SFS), Panjab University, started an indefinite protest demanding the opening of libraries and other establishments.

The protesting students demanded the opening of labs, AC Joshi Library and departmental libraries, considering the lockdown period for hostel stay as zero and charges on a regular basis. They said there should be no fee for partial lockdown period for all PhD scholars and they should be allowed to stay in hostels. They also demanded the waiving off all charges like library fee, department charges and other infrastructural charges. The mess canteen of girls’ hostel no. 4 should be opened and the process of RDC and promotion of scholars from JRF to SRF expedited, they added. — TNS
