The Students For Society (SFS) unit of Panjab University staged a protest against the non-implementation of BC/OBC reservation in recruitment and admissions at the university.

SFS president Sandeep said authorities have not implemented BC/OBC reservation in the recruitment of A and B grade posts.

He said the admissions of graduate, postgraduate and other courses, PU gives 5% BC reservation that is also not consonance with either the Punjab State Reservation Policy, where BC reservation is 12%, or with the reservation policy of the Union Government where OBC reservation is 27%.
